5 hour bus trip to Munnar was less painful than we expected!
Our host in kochi had directed us to the bus terminal (which is just where random buses stop – no signs or indication where they are going) and managed to ask around for our bus. Leaving fort kochi you really see the amazing expanse of water that flows through south India. Crossing bridges takes ages, crossing huge lakes with the most amazing greenery surrounding them.
Once we made our way into the mountains, the roads get extremely narrow and twisty. Passing skull and cross bones signs, it’s pretty skilful that our driver could manoeuvre an entire bus while twisting and turning a blind spot every 5 mins.
Getting closer to Munnar you start to see the amazing hills and scenic views. Best of all is seeing the endless tea plantations, so uniform and beautiful. It’s truely an amazing sight! Looking forward to trekking out rather than seeing it out a bus window.
